Last updated:  August 20, 2013

Everyone says that a website needs a privacy policy (sigh).  By using this website, you are accepting this policy.  If you have any questions, please contact me at art [at] artchester.net.

Anonymous information:  The website may use Google Analytics or similar tools to measure how you and other visitors use the website.  This information is anonymous and does not identify you as an individual, or the computer you are using.

Personal information:  If you enter personal information such as your name and e-mail address to post a comment, subscribe to updates, or contact me, I will maintain that information unless you ask me to delete it.  If you subscribe to updates, you will automatically receive summaries of new postings until you ask to be taken off that mailing list.

How I protect your personal information:  I protect your personal information with passwords, firewalls and other methods, using the same care as I do in protecting my own information.  However, no system can be completely secure and I cannot guarantee that all information will always remain protected.  You may wish to refer to the Federal Trade Commission’s article entitled How to Keep Your Personal Information Secure for information on how to protect yourself against identity theft.

Sharing of information:  I will not sell your personal information or share it with anyone else.  It will be available only to someone who may assist me with maintaining the website, in response to a court order or legal requirement, or in the unlikely case that this website is sold to someone else.

Third-party websites:  There may be links on this website leading to other websites that I do not control.  Those websites may have their own privacy policies, which you may wish to consult.  No personal information that you enter on this website is transferred to any other website.

Childrens’ privacy and suitability:  This website is for the use of adults only, and may contain material not suitable for children.  I do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Visiting our website from outside the United States:  This privacy policy covers collection of information on the website from residents of the United States.  If you are visiting the website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where this website’s servers are located.  The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in your country.

No rights of third parties:  This privacy policy does not create rights enforceable by third parties or require disclosure of any personal information by users of the website.

Changes to privacy policy:  I will occasionally update this privacy policy, and on those occasions I will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page.  If you wish to know of changes in this policy you will need to inform yourself by visiting this page.
